MY CREATIVE PROCESS
This capstone project was quite a journey. It involved tweaks and changes to bring it to the end result. Learning ways in which to foster creativity was one of the most helpful to the making of this project. Mind-wandering specifically was a technique that I employed and benefited greatly from (Bench & Lench 2019). To take a step back from the project and let my ideas fester was helpful. Letting the ideas marinate was necessary when I had devoted a long period of time sketching, painting, or sewing. The task of assembling my vision was challenging and could be frustrating. To mind-wander was to give me the time to reevaluate what was working and what was not working and where to go from there. This was especially true for making the skirt. It went through many phases to become what it is now. The capstone project required coming up with creative solutions, which was made possible by giving myself a moment to breathe and then take up the task anew.
